DonMonique released her debut EP Thirst Trap in the summer 2015, subsequently garnering a healthy amount of buzz for the Brooklyn-reared musician. The project’s third track, “Drown,” now gets its own set of visuals.
Like its haze-induced lyrics, the video has Don maneuvering within the Rotten Apple with some of her closest friends as the Stelios Phili-produced backdrop burns slowly throughout. The inevitable draw, however is when she spits out “Finessing the plug, finessing the plug, finessing the plug” in her second verse. It’s easy to imagine a swath of women screaming that at shows ad nauseam.
