Slim Jxmmi (of Rae Sremmurd) – “Lobby (Remix)”

I’m somewhat interested in why the older of the Rae Sremmurd brothers, Slim Jxmmi, has suddenly taken an interest in flexing (no pun intended) his rapping chops on the solo tip lately. Perhaps it’s due to his younger half Swae Lee having a vested interest in producing (some of the backdrops from their debut album, SremmLife, featured his work), or perhaps Slim just feels like rapping his head off on virtually everything he hears.

Jxmmit has recently added some vocals to songs from the Migos, Zoey Dollaz, and Wiz Khalifa. Now, he puts his spin on Queens-reared group 821 and their dance-friendly song “Lobby.” I honestly wouldn’t know that this song came from rappers out of New York if I wasn’t told this, but it’s like I said a while ago: New York, despite its up-front and staunch “anti-” status, is more accepting of regional sounds than California is at this point. Anyways, hear Slim Jxm’s take on it below.
