In 2014, T-Pain surprised many people when he took to NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series for a critically-acclaimed performance. A few days ago Faheem Rasheed Najm returned to NPR, now as a part of their Front Row concert series, to commemorate the Tiny Desk performance. Held in Washington, DC, the show quickly sold out of tickets moments after they were announced, and fans were treated to another well-received set which included the debut of new music from his upcoming album Stoicville: The Phoenix.

Finally slated to arrive on December 11th, Pain would debut “Officially Yours” from the project. A piano-friendly love song, “Officially Yours” takes cues from the doo-wop era of soul while Pain’s lyrics are the type of words that first dances at weddings are made of. T-Pain’s entire set is slated to air in the coming days, but with this performance – as well as a setlist that includes covers of Gnarls Barkley and Sam Cooke – the video can’t come any sooner.
