Arguably more so than Yasiin Bey, Jay Electronica and Andre 3000, the artist only known as DOOM has redefined and reinterpreted the word “elusive.” He appears when he wants to, “performs” at shows via “secret locations” and teases anticipated collaborations with fellow luminaries for decades. After most recently appearing alongside PRhyme and Phonte on “Highs & Lows,” the mysterious emcee resurfaces again to deliver good news for his fans.

From a very random location off of a Cuban isle, DOOM gives an update on what he has been up to lately, and in between boating (in a New York Islanders jersey, natch), smoking a bogie and swimming – with the mask firmly still on, mind you – he reveals that he plans to release new music in 2016. What this means exactly – the oft-delayed DOOMStarks project with Ghostface Killah, a new solo effort since 2009’s Born Like This, or perhaps the cure for ending world hunger – remains to be seen, but fans will undoubtedly be excited for his impending return.
