Method Man delivered one of the better releases of 2015 with his new album The Meth Lab. Throughout the many highlights of the LP, perhaps the true standout was the J57-produced, Lou Diamond and Rollie Fingers-featured “The Purple Tape.” Now that track gets a matching set of visuals, directed by the Last American B-Boy.
Perhaps paying homage to the vintage Wu-Tang videos of the past, the entire clip is clad in amethyst while Meth, Rae and Deck trade bars throughout. There are some cameos throughout as well: Ras Kass, Streetlife, and Meth’s own kids shouting out the hook (proving once again that Wu-Tang is for the children). It’s a throwback-stylized clip that is yet a reminder of how refreshing The Meth Lab is.
