Erykah Badu spent a considerable amount of time in New York over the last several weeks following both her hosting duties at the Soul Train Awards and the release of her new project But You Cain’t Use My Phone. She – and Jay Electronica – stopped by The Breakfast Club for a rather entertaining interview and sang alongside The Roots on The Tonight Show. Badu saved her best, however, for her intimate concert in Brooklyn last night (December 2nd).

Taking the stage at the Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Badu would perform many songs from But You Cain’t Use My Phone for the very first time. With the help of Periscope following her every move, the makeshift cameras caught the songstress making her way to the stage and singing everything from her Baduizm hits (“On & On”) to Grammy winners (“Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)”) to her latest bangers (“Phone Down“). From the looks of things it was definitely something not to be missed.

As a Brooklyn resident, I’m kicking myself for not attending this.
