While the MCU is busy kicking us in our collective nuts by teasing us with the intense Captain America: Civil War trailer, hitting us in the head with big plot twists in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and finishing it off with the K.O. that is the Netflix original Jessica Jones series (not to mention the upcoming second seasons of Agent Carter & Daredevil next year), DC is currently on the road to achieve the same.

Just a mere three days ago, we got a third glimpse of the second film in the DCEU, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – due to arrive in theaters March 25, 2016. Then, on August 5th, DC will finally give us what we comic book readers/geeks wanted: an all supervillain film that is Suicide Squad.

Then, there’s the TV side of DC, which, as it is to my understanding, does not tie in with the DCEU. Still, the small screen side has given us Constantine, the critically acclaimed Gotham series, the horrible Supergirl, the upcoming Lucifer, Preacher (both under the DC/Vertigo imprints) and Arrow & The Flash. The latter two will converge into DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. We got a small taste of the upcoming spin-off with two crossover specials from both Arrow (“Legends of Yesterday”) & The Flash (“Legends of Today”).

Legends of Tomorrow will see the teaming-up of The Atom, Firestorm, White Canary, Hawkman & Hawkgirl and will also see the return of Prison Break‘s two formidable characters/actors Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller as they portray Heatwave and Captain Cold, respectively, led by extraordinary time-traveler Rip Hunter. Flash, Arrow and Black Canary will play key roles as recurring characters.

While plot details are still limited, the tagline is “Rip Hunter travels back in time to the present day where he brings together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world and time itself.”

Watch the trailer below and get ready for the action to unfold Jan 21st on the CW.
