Cheech and Chong. Those two names have been the universal inspiration for all 4:20-happy, greenery-smoking idiot savants worldwide. I’m going to go as far as suggest that if it, at last partially, were not for the influences of Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong rap music wouldn’t have the stoner-inspired raps of Method Man and Redman (or Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa). Their legend now reaches Strange Music frontman Tech N9ne, for his latest set of visuals from his recently-released compilation Strangeulation Vol. 2.

With MURS riding shotgun, the two embark on a wild caper ducking 70s-era coppers (portrayed by fellow guest rapper Ubiquitous) and trying to out-“blunt” each other. The lyrics are hilarious, and the video is a goofy homage to Cheech & Chong’s 1978 classic Up In Smoke. Apparently TOmmy loves the video too; so much so that he had this to say about it:

“That video is so fire that I watched it over and over again with a ‘Blunt and Ho!!'”

Indeed, Chong. Indeed.

Side trivia: On August 11th, 1972, Mayor John Gatti of San Antonio declared August 11th, 1972 “Cheech and Chong Day.”
