Way back in 2010, when Kanye West was in the middle of his G.O.O.D. Fridays series ahead of releasing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, one of the songs released close to Christmas was “Christmas In Harlem,” which was produced by Hit-Boy. Now that Hit-Boy has developed his own level of fame, he can voice his own feelings on the holiday season with success, and he’s done so on “Christmas In Cali” with his HS87 label family.

Essentially, Hit-Boy, along with Audio Push, Kent Money and others on the producer’s label, squeeze in their feelings into short verses so they all get a chance to appear within the song’s five minutes. The song doesn’t really have the same warm, wintery feel “Christmas In Harlem” had, but then again, when does it ever REALLY feel like Christmas in Southern California?
