PREMIERE: Lou the Human – “Brink” (Video)

blame it on JES7 January 4, 2016

Aside from the legendary Wu-Tang Clan and Hass G & Kool Kim – collectively known as the UMCs (you may be too young if you aren’t familiar) – no one is really making waves out of the notorious New York borough of Staten Island.

Enter 20 year old Brooklyn born, SI-bred Lou the Human. The gifted lyricist of Puerto Rican and Italian/French/Peruvian descent has also lent his talents of production for the likes of The Underachievers and Jazz Cartier – with quite the positive outlook on life, despite hailing from what National Geographic has dubbed Heroin Island.

To help promote his upcoming EP, Humaniac due for a release in February, Lou has tossed a 2DOPE visual taken in one-shot for his self-produced, minimalist single “Brink” to the front lines, filled to the brim with witty metaphors and similes. No chorus, straight up bars!

Per the official press release:

He says he wanted to approach this song and his forthcoming Humaniac EP (set to drop in February) like he was Heath Ledger playing The Joker in Batman a sick character who mixes comedy and darkness.

“Once you realize life’s a joke you kinda become a comedian”.

Point being, don’t sleep on the kid!
