Revered Hip-Hop royalty PRhyme (DJ Premier and Royce Nickel Nine) have recently contributed something special for ESPN‘s pregame show NBA Countdown.
Titled “Rockin’ With The Best,” the new banger will, according to ESPN Frontrow, “be the central part of NBA Countdown’s new broadcast open, which features highlights of the top NBA stars.” The partnership may be something brand new to Royce, but for Premo, he’s in familiar waters – having contributed a few joints for NBA Countdown in 2014.
In a short interview with Frontrow, Preme describes the song as:
The title describes us and it describes the competition that goes along with basketball. It’s the attitude that you need, so we wanted this track to carry that vision.
On why he chose to collaborate with NBA Countdown again, Premo says:
I’m such a fan of sports and ESPN is the “go to” channel, as soon as I wake up every single morning, in order to get the happenings of the day. It’s a blessing to even have the opportunity to get involved musically with NBA Countdown.
