Between the release of Electric Circus and his best and most well-known LP, BeCommon stopped by Tim Westwood‘s show to deliver a freestyle over “Dipset Anthem.”

Westwood has been dropped vintage freestyles from the likes of DMX, Jay Z, Mos Def and more in recent weeks, and Common’s is among the best of them. One of the best parts of these freestyles, especially for a younger dude like me, is hearing them spit about current events and songs at the time. In 2003, Common is delivering shout outs to Pharrell because “he deserves it,” R. Kelly having a No. 1 album (Chocolate Factory) and a 50 Cent/2pac collaboration, “Realest Killaz.”

Hopefully this isn’t the last throwback, Tim. Keep ’em coming.
