Last week, Charles Hamilton delivered “My Jamaican Baby Momma,” a freestyle for DJBooth’s “Bless the Booth” series. The website warned when Hamilton recorded, he had two freestyles lined up. Today, we get the second, “A Rainy Night In Harlem.”
While last week’s freestyle built in tempo and aggression overtime, “A Rainy Night In Harlem” comes from a more soulful, slow-tempo and thoughtful perspective. The best thing about Hamilton’s last two top-of-the-dome verses is you can tell they’re true freestyles — unlike many people who stop by places like Sway’s show with “freestyles” locked and loaded.
Watch Hamilton bless the booth below.
