Be it Shake secretly having a familial background that he isn’t fully aware of, or my inherent love for their food and people, but the DopeHouse are relatively unabashed fans of lyrically dense music from the South. It’s the perfect blend of countrified soul and humble sensibilities which make artists such as the Nappy Roots instantly relatable to the listener.
Fish Scales, Skinny DeVille, B. Stille and Ron Clutch have been working on a follow-up to their 2015 project 40 Akerz Project, appropriately titled Another40AkerzProject. As they are set to release it sometime in 2016, the group has reconnected with frequent collaborators SMKA for its first single “Concrete Pavement.”
