Akon hasn’t released an album since 2008, Freedom. He really hasn’t needed to do so, however, as he has dropped a myriad of platinum-moving singles, introduced T-Pain to the masses, owns a diamond mine in South Africa, launched an initiative – Akon Lighting Africa – in 2014 which provides electricity in 15 countries of Africa, and once signed Lady Gaga to his KonLive Distribution.
Akon now appears to be off his musical hiatus, having already teamed with Future on a remix to “Forever.” He now returns with a new single, “Hypnotized,” which is a tropical-flavored cut designed to be a feel-good song. Listen to it below.
