Despite the fact that she is a world-traveling, successful R&B/pop chanteuse, Tinashe is more of a family guy than Peter Griffin, as writer Ross Scarano caught up with her and her entire family (she still lives at home with her parents and younger siblings) in Southern California to talk about her wise-beyond-her-years artistic prowess, her beats, her rhymes, her life and more. “I have no Plan B,” she says. “I’ve set this up so that my entire life is based on this, and if this fails I have nothing else. No career options. No life options. I’ve sacrificed so much for this; failure is so beyond an option. There can only be setbacks. It’ll eventually work because it can’t not work.” She laughs. “And it’s never a fully hopeless situation, because I’ll always have some support.”
