You may not know it, in between the random Twitter rants, the multiple sneaker drops, the constant name changes and the seemingly sporadically bombastic remarks, but Kanye West does plan on releasing his seventh studio album (code-named TLOP). Set to debut amidst New York Fashion Week at a grandiose concert/fashion show for his upcoming Yeezy clothing line at Madison Square Garden, the album is essentially the “moment of truth” for the polarizing musician, as his last project – the electro-fused Yeezus – received a mixed reception.

Before the official unveiling, however, fans can now watch this documentary on the life and times of Mr. West, Dissertation: A Kanye West Story. Produced by Armani Ortiz and Dan Buyanovsky, the 16-minute film covers Kanye’s musical career up to this point, and features commentary from a multitude of journalists – Erika Ramirez, Jon Caramanica, Jake Paine, and Noah Callahan-Bever are among the cast – who speak on West’s legacy and influence. It’s an interesting watch, for those who are more interested in the music of Kanye and can somehow ignore everything else that is going on.
