Kanye West’s “I Love Kanye” acapella freestyle (off The Life of Pablo) opened itself to remixes by anyone and everyone, so this was inevitable.
The first notable remix of Kanye’s self-loathing freestyle comes from Chicago producer Stefan Ponce (“3005,” “Down On My Luck”). In the fashion of “old Kanye,” Ponce delivers a soulful flip of “I Dedicate My Life To You” by The Dramatics as the backdrop to the minute-long stunt. This sounds like an instrumental straight from the recording sessions of The College Dropout, and that’s a nod to Ponce’s sample selection and flip.
