Australia’s Triple J radio station has a running series called “Like A Version,” where artists who come by the station to promote shows in the region cover songs to show off their talents. One of the more recent covers, Childish Gambino’s take on Tamia’s “So Into You,” has stayed in rotation.
Anyway, Raury stopped by the radio station, and like hundreds of other artists, offered his take on a song. His choice? A$AP Rocky’s “L$D.” The song is a little more upbeat than the drugged-out, melodic original, but the cover really kicks into gear when Raury delivers a fast-paced original verse. I’m not a huge fan of the ATL native, but I don’t mind this at all.
Raury joins Mayaeni and Snoh Aalegra as artist who have stopped by the DopeHouse with covers of Rocky’s tune. Watch the video above.
