You may recognize Kat DeLuna from her 2007 single “Whine Up.” Growing up in South Florida, this was a staple of whatever middle school dances I attended. Its upbeat Caribbean vibes are timeless and can still easily be thrown in rotation for this reason: “WHINE UP, WHINE UP, WHINE UP, OYE!” Timeless.
Anyway, after releasing an album in 2010, the New York native took a decent hiatus before prepping the release of Viva Out Loud. After delivering “Bum Bum” with Trey Songz last year, DeLuna drops a new single aimed to appear on the project called “What A Night” featuring Jeremih. Interpolating Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons’ “December ’63,” the two trade verses over atypical radio-ready production.
