Remember when Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana were supposed to do an album, I Can’t Feel My Face, many years ago? Perhaps Weezy’s impending collaborative project with 2 Chainz is a form of retribution for that failure to deliver.

Although the two have worked several times in the past, news of a Young Tauheed and Tunechi project — titled Collegrove, a mash-up of their two respective hometowns (2 Chainz from College Park, GA, and Wayne from Hollygrove, LA) — still took fans by surprise because, let’s face it, nobody expected it to actually happen. The two would announce the union with the debut of the first song from it, “Rolls Royce Weather,” on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night show. Now it seems that the project has an exact release date… according to Kanye West.

West’s Twitter page may have, recently, be solely known as a source of some of his wildest ramblings, from asking Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg for some spare change to sharing his feelings about music producer Bob Ezrin, but this morning (March 2nd) he took to his account to announce that Collegrove will be released on March 4th, as well as reveal the artwork:

With no tracklisting or contributions out yet, some wonder how the final product will actually sound. But, in this writer’s opinion, if the entire project sounds anything like “Rolls Royce Weather” then it should be a good listen.
