Through his solo efforts and work with Isaiah Rashad, Michael da Vinci is a name we don’t see enough around these parts. Today, he’s welcomed back with the soul-rich and determined “Meditate.”
Using the same sample from Nas’ “The World Is Yours” (Amhad Jamal Trio’s “The Awakening“), the Chattanooga, Tenn., native brings an upbeat and positive vibe to the soul flavors. “Mediate” features Swayyvo as the two really try to block out the world’s bullshit to focus on two things: positivity and racking up stacks higher than Shaquille O’Neal’s ceiling fan.
