Russ continues on his song-a-week grind with the self-produced “Davidson,” a recap of his motivations to rise in the ranks of the music world.
The Atlanta native compares his rise, which he’s largely done through self-promotion and discovery through SoundCloud, to that of the world’s best basketball player, Steph Curry. Right now, Russ says he’s at the stage where Steph was when he attended Davidson University; heads are starting to turn wondering who he is. As he’s preached in many of the 70-plus songs he’s dropped since 2015 started, he’s not stopping until the world knows who Russ is.
