Adrian Younge – “Psalms” f. Loren Oden (Video)

When he’s not busy touring, running his barbershop-slash-record-store The Artform Studio or supplying his group PRhyme with an array of dope samples to choose from, the multi-talented, multifaceted and highly-revered Adrian Younge is probably tucked away in his studio in Los Angeles, producing new compositions for heads to salivate over.

Earlier this year, the editor behind the Black Dynamite film delivered the follow up to 2012’s Something about April — alongside the band Venice Dawn. Simply dubbed Something About April II, the 13-track LP dived back into familiar waters, exploring an unadulterated fusion of psychedelic-soul, funk and Italian/Macaroni western-themed music, which sounds like it was inspired by everyone from Bobby Womack to Ennio Morricone, The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Jimi Hendrix and more.

Catch the simple, monochromatic visuals for “Psalms” featuring Loren Oden up top, and purchase Something About April II on iTunes or 2xLP (gatefold).

Check out the album’s previous offerings in visual/audio form: “Sittin’ By the Radio,” “Hands of God (RZA’s remix),” “Hands of God (the original)” and “Winter Is Here.”
