DJ Mister Cee Blends Biggie Vocals Over Today’s Beats

As is the norm every March 9th, rap fans get a glut of Notorious B.I.G-related paraphernalia: mixtapes, videos, long-form editorials… even in 2009 fans got a relatively decent/campy movie based on his life (albeit, in January, but who’s keeping track). One inquiry that has always remained consistent has been the debate on whether the raps of Christopher Wallace would have translated well over some of today’s hip hop instrumentals.

Well, venerable deejay Mister Cee — who was also Big’s tour DJ — attempts to bridge that proverbial gap with Biggie Blendz 2016. Alongside SNICKA, the two fit instrumentals from Kanye West (“Real Friends“), Future (“Stick Talk“), 2 Milly (“Milly Rock“), Yo Gotti (“Down In The DM“), and a host of others for a quickstrike mix. It’s like every other “blend” tape that’s ever dropped, but it’s a worthy distraction nonetheless.

UPDATE: Not to be outdone, MICK (formerly Mick Boogie) and Chi Duly combine B.I.G’s vocals with productions from Metro Boomin. The end result? Ready To Boom.
