When the clock strikes 11 p.m. tonight, iTunes will update, and a new Flatbush ZOMBiES album will graces its pages.
3001: A Laced Odyssey was announced 11 days into the new year, and 11 days into March, it will finally arrive. The promotion, or rather the little bit that’s been done, has been pretty refreshing. The trio, not relatively known to a majority of the world, announced the album alongside a loosie, “Glorious Thugs,” released the album’s first single a month later, and now here we are — ready for the album to drop. The ZOMBiES gave us a date, and they’ve stuck to it. No drama. Nothing seems rushed. And I’m even more excited knowing the whole project will drop soon.
As a bit of last-minute promotion/reminding, Meechy Darko, Erick Arc Elliott and Zombie Juice deliver “This Is It,” which features endless flows from the three members as the trade verses over Elliott’s consistent, piano-driven, haunting production.
