With his new, album Bridges finally out, former ONYX emcee Sonny Seeza, aka Suavé/Sonsee is set to return New York rap back to its gritty, grimy roots and away from the death grip of East Coast artists who are completely watering the sound down.
No more snap/bounce/mumble raps in the foreseeable future. At least that’s the goal, and as lofty as that may sound, someone’s gotta do it, and right now that circle is quite small.
At the tail-end of January, Sonny delivered the lead single off his new LP, “Everywhere” — and today, the gifted wordsmith heads back to his old stomping grounds of Brooklyn-Vietnam to shoot the song’s official video.
