Some of both Pharrell and Justin Timberlake‘s best work came when they joined together on JT’s debut album, Justified. “Rock Your Body,” “Love Like You” and “Señorita” came from studio sessions with The Neptunes 14 years — FOURTEEN YEARS — ago. While it’s clearly been a long time since Pharrell and Timberlake have curated tunes in the studio, more collaborations are long overdue.

Thursday night, Timberlake posted a picture on Instagram of the two talking in the studio, and Pharrell followed with a video this morning. While the simple act of posting these is not news, the tease that the two might be working again is well worth the agonizing hype. And while I’m sure if anything did come these sessions, it wouldn’t see the light of day for a while. But hey, it’s been three years since JT’s last album, and Pharrell doesn’t seem he’s as active nowadays as he’d been over the last handful of years, so let’s hope the timing’s right on this one.
