One would never imagine seeing an artist like Yo Gotti performing live on stage at a Mass Appeal/Nas-hosted event. But such is the unorthodox nature of music and entertainment festivals like SXSW — which feature a sometimes confusing medley of genres of music that, at the end of the day, made sense in an unusual way. Well, at least it used to be that way, until the corporate pricks bullied their way in.
I digress. During the Live At the BBQ Mass Appeal showcase (where Nas previewed a new J Dilla collaboration), Yo Gotti captivated fans with an animated performance of his smash hit “Down In the DM,” which has since gone on to spawn multiple covers and remixes.
