It’s not enough that Royce 5’9″ is returning with a new album, LAYERS, on April 15th. But now he’s also dropping a precursor to his fifth album, the EP Tabernacle: Trust The Shooter. Not to mention, he’s already dropped tracks that are so great it’s inexplicable that they won’t be on LAYERS: “Which Is Cool,” “Dead President Heads,” and “Tabernacle.”

Nickel now comes through with yet another heatrock, “Savages.”

Produced by AntMan Wonder, the track is perhaps “inspired” by its own artwork, which shows a woman dumping in a gas station parking lot. Royce then proceeds to put on a display of lyrical wizardry for nearly five minutes straight over the triumphant backdrop. Sheesh, what has him this focused and how can I get some of that?

Royce also announced a Canadian tour for LAYERS; the dates can be seen below.
