Although normally known to associate himself with rap vets like Masta Ace and Planet Asia, Boston’s Born is back with an offering that is sure to get a few spins on the mainstream/radio tip.

Cash, dough, paper, bread, scrilla—call it whatever you want, but at the end of the day, we all need money in some capacity. And for Boston rap mainstay Born, he can’t keep the acquisition of more greenbacks off his mind, even when he’s asleep. At least, that’s his position on his banging single, “Dreamin Bout Money,” which receives a stylish video treatment today.
The visuals were directed by the fellow Beantown hustlers of PXVCE God Films, whose vision brings a dreamlike aspect to the bass-heavy, MadReal-produced track. With “Dreamin Bout Money” as the soundtrack, we watch as Born (of acclaimed duo G.Dot & Born) gives zero f*cks and embraces the finer things in life including women, liquor, and everything in between. Armed with “pregnant pockets,” all seems to be going well for the slick-talkin’ MC. As Biggie once rapped, “It was all a dream…”—or was it?
“Dreamin Bout Money” stems from Born’s upcoming mixtape, Born Flexin. It’s due out May 7 and will be available as a free download via Datpiff.
