A few weeks ago, Shake attended a showcase put together by Strange Music in Kansas City. When he returned he told the DopeHouse his thoughts, and he specifically pointed out the performance by Krizz Kaliko. I’m paraphrasing here, but Shake essentially said, “He’s singing. A lot. Like, a whole lot.”

Instantly, the first thought in my head was “Krizz is going 808s & Heartbreak on us.” That thought was quasi-confirmed with the first single from his upcoming album Go, “Behave…” but then I ended up really liking the song! He now drops a new single and video off of the album, “Stop The World,” and guess what? I like this song too!

The song is emotionally dense, which recounts Krizz’ personal strifes with depression and self-destruction. The video itself is evocative as well, with many people struggling to make ends meet every day. Speaking to VIBE Krizz comments, “You can tell I was in a dark place when I made this song. My brain was trying to tell me to check out but instead, I translated my feelings into words and wrote this. Music can be a saving grace, whether you’re on the listener side of it or on the creator side of it.”
