You know, I completely forgot Gallant was releasing an album next week, and that may be for the best. Sometimes, I hype myself up too much for an album from an up-and-coming talent, and then I enter with ridiculously high expectations not realizing it’s their first project and they need time and multiple projects to really discover themselves.

The first sound we heard from the DC-born singer’s Ology LP was “Weight In Gold,” which arrived back in June. Since, Gallant has worked with the likes of James Fauntletroy and Jhené Aiko, who will grace the album on “Skipping Stones,” while remaining largely subtle in his branding efforts. Over his album’s 16 tracks, he will remain to himself outside of the feature from Aiko.

Stream Ology below via NPR (and their wonderful new media player), and pre-order the album on iTunes.
