This past Sunday, DJ Eclipse dedicated the entire first hour of his SiriusXM show Rap Is Outta Control to the late Phife Dawg.
Before diving straight into some of his most memorable lyrical moments in music, a few of Malik Taylor’s peers decided to share a few extraordinary stories about the 5 Foot Assassin. A clearly broken Jarobi shared his thoughts on seeing him suffer through his battle with diabetes, while DJ Premier revealed when he first met Phife at the first ever Gang Starr performance in New York. It’s a tear-inducing affair that celebrates the man’s legacy and his magnetic energy which seemed to pull anyone in close range into his orbit.
