SiR – “Tricky”

Inglewood-reared artist SiR landed on the radars of many with features on Jay Rock’s sophomore effort 90059 and Jay Prince’s “AfroPhunk,” before making his formal introduction last year with Seven Sundays.

The multi-hyphenate musician is now back with his first new offering of 2016, “Tricky.”

Produced by Rascal, SiR soulfully laments about “this thing called love” over somber guitar plucks and a stutter-stepping bassline. Its easily relatable lyrics, where he warns about the perils of falling for the wrong person, combined with his Jhené Aiko-esque sensibilities provides for one of the smoothest listens of the week.
