It’s been three summer since James Blake released his Overgrown LP — a bleak, heavy, electronic foray into the British singer’s mind. And after a couple quiet years, it seems Blake is ready to follow it up.

Yesterday, as he often does, Blake dropped by to BBC Radio 1 for a residency. Although yesterday’s appearances wasn’t scheduled, he showed up to play a set, which included a new song, “Timeless.” He also revealed his album is complete. “I said it a couple of months ago that I think it’s time to start recording an album because–you know–there’ve been requests,” he said. “People have been asking if I’m going to record a record, so I did one.” Well that’s good reason.

Whenever it does come out, expect it to feature minimalistic, bare tunes like this and “Modern Soul” — another song he debuted in a residency a couple months ago.
