Although he called his 2015 project The Great Escape, Kris Kasanova‘s album is actually a glimpse inside the mind of a Red Hook artist just trying to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately, coming from a particularly tough Brooklyn neighborhood will fine-tune one’s proverbial Spidey-sense, and this is where the video for the Crystal Caines-produced “Lord Knows” comes into play.
Through the lens of director A1 Vision, Kasanova and Justin Ro$e reminds viewers to stay aware of the higher being that watches our back when the people close to you are acting little suspicious. He says it quite succinctly: “Nowadays I don’t know who to blame, ’cause a n***a like me just tryna maintain.” Sometimes staying alive is much more difficult than living.
