Earlier this year, Ohio player and master-of-ceremony Vice Souletric premiered his sophomore album, Vice For President 2 — a follow up sequel to his 2015 debut.
The album boasted features from Talib Kweli, Skyzoo, King Magnetic and 9th Wonder and Rapper Big Pooh, and held no punches at being an unapologetically Hip-Hop record.
To help give back to the culture, as well as a way to thank fans for the support, Vice is giving the chance for all producers to try their hands at remixing one of the album’s stand out cuts, the 9th-Wonder produced “Respect the Legends.”
The contest kicks off today, and the rules are simple: First, download the a cappella via this link, fire up your weapon of choice and upload your remix to Soundcloud. You can share your remix through social media (Facebook or Twitter) by sending the following: I just Remixed the Legend! @Vicegotbeats, @2dopeboyz @iStandard @KingMagnetic @UnitedGrind. If you don’t use any of the mentioned social media platforms, you can email it to vice[at]vicesworld[dot]com with “REMIX THE LEGEND” in the subject line. The deadline for this contest is Monday, May 9th — when Vice and King Magnetic will reconvene and “pick one beat to go head to head for fan voting to help choose the winner.”
The grand prize winner will receive a FREE membership to IstandardProducers.com, and a FREE slot for an Istandard Producer Showcase in city of your choice, and an interview on iStandardProducers.com!
