In the wake of Jay Electronica releasing “The Curse of Mayweather” (which saw the New Orleans lyricist going for both Kendrick Lamar & 50 Cents’ necks), fans were left scratching their heads — versus proudly accepting new music from the most reclusive artist in Hip-Hop.

So many questions to be asked. Why did Jay even go at Fif and Kendrick in the first place? What actually motivates him to head into the booth and record new music? Where’s the new album that was announced two years ago? Is Jay finished or is he done?

Sadly, it seems we’ll never know his motivations, nor the answers to any of these questions. What we do know is that one Timothy Elpadaro Thedford has something special up his sleeve. Earlier today, the Magnolia Projects savior announced on Twitter that he’s recorded with Chance the Rapper, and that we’ll be hearing the results of it very soon. But we all know “very soon” could mean in a year. Or two years. Or at this rate, never. We’ll just have to wait and see.

UPDATE: Jay Elect shared a few more thoughts on Twitter, which included apologies to Kendrick and 50.
