I’ll be honest: I’m not at all familiar with 21 Savage. I can’t say that I have listened to his music, so I cannot critique or provide any opinion on it. I do not know too much about his life past what I’ve gathered from various articles on the Internet. Quite succinctly, I don’t know who 21 Savage is.

But that is what makes him an ideal subject for the latest episode of the DopeHouse’s “A Day In The Life With” series. Following Boston rapper Cousin Stizz and fashion magnate Frank The Butcher, we take a look at the buzzing Atlanta rapper as he made a trip to New York City for his very first show in The Big Apple. A victim of the club scene’s attempt to smudge out the urban party demographic in Manhattan, his show was ultimately moved to Brooklyn at the last minute. Following his show, Savage would hit the studio with PnB Rock, before doing a press run the next day.

Now among the many who make up Atlanta’s burgeoning youth-based hip hop scene (which includes players like Two-9, Metro Boomin, and MADEINTYO), 21 is acknowledging his potential as an artist and has realized that there is more to life than his past — which includes getting shot and losing friends to street violence — and is determined to live his to the fullest.
