If you pulled me to the side and gave me 100 chances guess who Chief Keef would be working with next, CeeLo Green probably wouldn’t been within those 100 guesses — especially with his full commitment to adult contemporary sounds in recent years. And I’m a fool for that, because I should know the rappin’ came first.

So here we are, two verses and beat later from CeeLo Green, as he, Chief Keef and Tone Trump come together to raise energy on the industrial, funky production on “Violence (War For Peace).” The three touch on how murdering should be done on the microphone and not in the streets. (Ok, maybe Keef doesn’t fully commit to that idea, but he tried his best.)

The end result isn’t too repeatable, but I’m always down for an odd, surprising collaboration like this no matter the end product.
