Since 2016 officially popped off, there have been a handful of albums that have been kept in heavy rotation on my Zune iPod iPhone — which, really, is saying a lot, considering I rotate albums and playlists daily. Off the top of my head, and without actually looking, I can say with certainty that dvsn’s debut album, the D.I.T.C. compilation and Anderson .Paak‘s Malibu have gotten steady burn; three solid albums that don’t cause fatigue after multiple listens.

We already know .Paak is hyperaware of the “devil in the details,” and one thing fans have truly grown to love about the recent Aftermath signee is his passionate grind and vivacious artistic expression; both attributes are undoubtedly discernible on Malibu.

Today, the Oxnard, CA native further explores his creative roots with the release of the incredibly imaginative visual for “The Season/Carry Me” and “The Waters” with BJ the Chicago Kid.

Co-directed by .Paak and Chris Le, the six-minute experience is driven by Monty Python’s Flying Circus-style animation—with plenty of pop culture references to keep you revisiting time after time.

Making its debut on Apple Music, the video can be seen below.
