After attending the Met Gala, which Kanye West called the “Grammys of style,” in New York last night, Yeezy called in to Steve Harvey’s morning show to talk about fashion, The Life of Pablo, “Ultralight Beam” and much more.

Kanye also teased a tour in support of The Life of Pablo would start in September. “Oh, you know my tour game is strong. We gon’ go out in September, I believe, and we’re just working on some of the ideas right now,” he said.

The whole conversation was pretty controlled, but it continued to support his idea of pushing himself and the people surrounding him to a “higher level.” “I wanna do something that helps the world and impacts and represents our time here on Earth to the maximum,” Yeezy said.

Listen to the full interview, where it was revealed “Ultralight Beam” was officially getting released as an “adult contemporary gospel single,” and check out some snippets below. Kanye’s about to climb all sorts of charts.

Talking on “Ultralight Beam”:

“Me and my dad went to go visit Kirk [Franklin] at his house four Christmases ago. That was the beginning of our relationship. … We were just blessed to be in the room at that time when the ultralight beam came through us. I can’t explain that song in notes, I can’t explain it in rhythm, I can’t explain it in drum beats. I can only explain that feeling. There was a young lady in the studio that pulled up an Instagram with the little girl on it saying, “we don’t want no devils in the house!” Literally, this is all coming together a week and a half before the album, to the point where we had to make it the first song on the album.”

On Wiz Khalifa “beef”:

If you read the KK [tweet], you thought he might have been talking about my wife. And you know how you would feel if someone was talking about your wife. Did I take it too far? You know what, I’m from 79th street Chicago…I can’t say that if someone says “eff you,” I can’t say I’m not gonna say the exact same thing back.

But one thing that I want to really express to the people is everyday I look and I play with my daughter, I’m playing with Saint. I talked to Wiz, Amber talked to Kim, and I really want to stress the amount of respect that I have for parents. There is no concept of anyone beating up on someone else’s child or that type of concept. So everyday I actually feel more deeply, deeply, deeply apologetic about that concept, because I only want to put out positive, positive, positive concepts.

On Yeezy clothing prices:

Man, that first season I wasn’t in charge of none of those prices. Mark my words, please mark my words: I am coming for they neck. I’m bout to drop these prices in the way I can connect to the Kanye that I was when I was 14-years-old and my mum could barely afford it.
