Young Chop – “Just Do Me”

Remember Young Chop‘s rather impressive production run between 2012 and 2014? What began as studio sessions for a then-under-house-arrest Chief Keef would arguably become some of Chicago rap’s most memorable (albeit hyper-nihilistic) moments in that time: “I Don’t Like,” “Us,” “3 Hunna,” and “Traffic” were regional songs that would soon become national hits, and helped land deals for Keef, Lil Durk, and Lil Reese — among others — in the process.

Making the transition from producer to rapper, Chop is now in the process of revealing a new solo album, King Chop. Slated to arrive sometime in 2016, he hands over the beat-making reins to Young J and instead hops into the booth for a muted yet bass-addled track “Just Do Me.” Whether he can attain the same success as a rapper remains to be seen, but listen to to the first single below.
