As many people know, at one point of his career Curren$y was one of the original members of Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment, eventually leaving the label in 2007. While with N.O.R.E. on his podcast, Drink Champs, Shante would detail some of his experiences with Wayne, chronicling one moment when he was unintentionally introduced to lean.
The story goes: while on the road with Wayne, Curren$y — after a game of pickup basketball — unknowingly drank an entire bottle of spiked purple Hawaiian Punch. Wayne, who knew that he never touched the stuff, walked in and quipped, “Spitta, you probably about to die.” Shante would then reveal that afterwards he took a nap longer than usual…
