Get Open, a quartet of emcees from New York City, is on track to bring Hip-Hop back to its B-boy roots. Comprised of founder Siba-Giba (producer/emcee), Kiambu (emcee), Zook (emcee), and VonMeista (producer/emcee), the four accomplished artists have collaborated with jazz musician Lester Bowie, DJ Rob Swift (of The X-Eecutioners) and Sadat X (of Brand Nubian), and shared the stage with the likes of KRS-One, Tha Alkaholiks, Special Ed and De La Soul.

After releasing their 12-inch single, “Here & Now” b/w “Mad Controversy” in 1996, Here & Now EP in 1997 and The Week-End in 2014, Get Open returns with IAM Open, “a 16-track project that serves as a platform for each artist to shine over instrumentals from Arts Martiens (Martian Arts),” created by “multi-platinum French Hip-Hop group, IAM.”

If you were sleeping on this best kept secret, now’s the perfect time to get hip to the realness. Stream the mixtape — which sees their reunion with Rob Swift — below, then peruse the included YouTube links for the videos “Reason” and “4,2,1” after the jump.
