Tuesday afternoon, Kaytranada stopped by the Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio studios for a interview revolving around his 99.9% LP. During the conversation, though, the two broke off into discussing who else the Canadian producer has worked with outside of his album, and it transitioned into premiering a remix of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better.”

The original, which landed on ANTI, features influence from anthemic, Prince-style, synth-heavy ballads, to which Kay modernized with upbeat, head-bobbing bass drums and added layers of synthesizers.

During the interview, Kaytranada said he plans on releasing a mixtape soon called 0.01%, and it will features the likes of Vic Mensa, Anderson .Paak, Mick Jenkins and plenty more — all people whom Kay has worked with and consistently given beats to over the years.

Listen to the remix of “Kiss It Better” below, and stay tuned for the full interview, where Kay discussed his influences (Madlib, The Neptunes, Timbaland), the process of collaborating with the likes of Craig David and Goldlink and more.
