At first look, both Southside and Sonny Digital are known primarily as curators of the Atlanta sound, which has permeated the rest of the rap world. But for the last year or two (and long before that for Southside), they’ve gradually more attention on their rapping skills and work as a solo artists — Southside under the moniker Young Sizzle and Sonny Digital under the same name.
The two are planning to come together under the same roof on a mixtape, Sizzle Digital, at some point this year, and Tuesday night, the pair released the first song from the project in the form of “Fade Away.” Southside takes center stage on the single, producing the banger as well as bookending a verse from Sonny with two aggressive, stunting verses of his own.
