Over the past year and a half, we’ve followed the sun-kissed, soulful vibes from Sunni Colón, and they’ve finally come together in the form of his Thierry Disko EP.

Lasting seven songs, the project includes four previous releases including the two opening tracks, “Feel4U” and “Way You Talk About Me,” “California Diamond” and “pussyaintTHATPINK.”

Premiered by i-D, Colón explained that, despite the album’s bright dance grooves, the inspiration came from a much dark place. “Thierry Disko began while I was living in my car in Los Angeles,” he said. “I could have wrote and put out a gloomy project like Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye or Pink Moon by Nick Drake, but I never wanted to stay in a state of despair. Instead, the lighter tracks encouraged me to stay progressive and reminisce on the times when people told me 70’s funk uplifted the less fortunate. Writing about my personal experiences helped me get through the struggles.”

You’re going to be jamming to this all summer. With sounds influenced from Daft Punk to Stevie Wonder to The Neptunes to Frank Ocean, will get heavy rotation as you ride into a never-ending sunset.
