Around this time last year, the buzz around Future was about boil over the edge of a styrofoam cup as he was prepping to release DS2 — his first studio album after a stretch of three surprise mixtapes.

Finally, after selling nearly 150,000 copies in its first week, DS2 has gone platinum, making it his first solo record to sell a million copies and his second overall, according to the RIAA. (Naturally, his and Drake’s What A Time To Be Alive sold a cool million in no time.)

Also crossing the million-sold plateau — though in much quicker time — is Beyoncé’s LEMONADE.

Bey’s visual album sold 485,000 copies as a TiDAL exclusive in its first week, taking just over a month to sell another 500,000 after is April 23 release date. Lemonade is Beyoncé’s sixth studio album, and it’s her sixth platinum certification. The Queen will never stop climbing the charts.

Congrats to both artists, whose hot streaks will only continue to prolong over the summer.
